The Fitness Test

posted Tuesday, 7 March 2006
Problems abound with these podcasts, they keep disappearing and reappearing. Lord knows if this one will ever reach your ears but it's working for the moment. As for the previous podcast "The Spelling Bee," I know it was not working for a good majority of the time this weekend. Basically, if it ended with a discussion of Pride and Prejudice when you listened to it, you heard it in its entirety. If it didn't, stop what you are doing and go listen to it again. Go.

I've been ridiculously busy at work (violins please) and can't get motivated to write on here of late, so these podcasts are a big help. I had an Oscar picks post all ready to go that I completely forgot about and now is completely out of date. I can't get the energy together to clean my apartment, it's like a minefield of neckties, socks, plastic bags and magazines.

Tonight I got off work at 9, home by 10, and was starving. I headed into the kitchen, where I found what looked like a condiment museum in my refrigerator. Let me tell you what you can expect if you drop by the Walsh house for dinner tonight, I'm looking into my fridge right now.

Regular mustard, honey mustard, dijon mustard. (the three food groups)
Ketchup I bought in New Jersey, three apartments ago
Barbecue sauce
Hot sauce
A small amount of Feta cheese that I do not recall purchasing, but I must have done it prior to January 28th. THE DATE IT EXPIRED.
Half a box of Special K (thought that might work until I realized I had no milk, and Special K doesn't exactly lend itself to out-of-the-box snacking)
Four Carnation Instant Breakfast packets (again, no milk)
Ice cubes in wacky shapes

Come on over, we'll make a romantic night of it.

Do you guys like the new logo design at the top of the site? Also notice the podcasts are grouped together now at top left for easy access.

In today's podast, Josh Shurtleff shares a hilarious antecdote about taking a fitness test to join a gym. And Ian Friedman and I make fun of him. I have not yet posted it, but it has already been nominated for a Grammy. This one is reasonably safe for work, but the next few ARE NOT. Later this week, we'll be posting our two-part response to the "Marriage Contract" I posted about last week, and it could definitely get you fired. You've been warned.

Enjoy the podcast! Put your feedback on iTunes!
