Two Sides To Every Cohn
A man suspected of shooting singer-songwriter Marc Cohn during an attempted carjacking has been arrested after a stand-off with police. The Grammy-winning "Walking In Memphis" singer was allegedly shot in the temple late on Sunday by Joseph William Yacteen, who is believed to have fired into the star's band's van in a Denver, Colorado, parking garage. Cohn, who is married to US newswoman Elizabeth Vargas, was treated at a hospital and released the following day. He cancelled the remaining five stops of his tour with Suzanne Vega.
Does it make me a bad person that my first thought upon reading this was not, "He got shot in the head? Oh my God!" or "Thank God he survived. He has a wife and children."
No, no, my first thought was: "Marc Cohn is still touring? Who would go to see Marc Cohn? What does he do, open with "Walking In Mempis," sit silently for an hour and then close with "Walking In Memphis?" And he's touring with Suzanne Vega? Who opens for who here? Who is the promoter who came up with this powerhouse double bill? What do they call it, LollapaSNOOZEa? God, nice work on that Lollapasnoozea joke, Pat. Gold. Solid Gold."

Did Suzanne Vega sing that "Tom's Diner" song? I'll admit that in the 4th
grade I loved that song most of all b/c it annoyed the shit out of my
parents!
